In recent years through technical examinations courteously given to those who fall victim to counterfeit and fake products, Kymdan has statistically summated the following cases:

• Some customers rarely update product information via the media. In particular, some customers rarely refer to product information on the KYMDAN website before purchasing. Customers who have no information about genuine KYMDAN mattresses have also been cheated by vendors who are not officially authorized KYMDAN agents. Such vendors make claims to customers that lower quality products having other brand names are second grade KYMDAN products obtained in cooperation with Taiwan or Singapore. Some disreputable former employees of KYMDAN or other mattress manufacturers try to swindle and deceive customers by claiming that KYMDAN mattress products are expensive due to the popular brand name but that the quality of KYMDAN products is actually similar to that of products made by other manufacturers.  
• Some customers are informed about KYMDAN products but do not inspect delivered goods that have mattress covers because they trust the vendor. Such customers discover that the vendor substituted products fraudulently only when a quality issue arises through use of the product. In cases where vendors are trusted, there is lack of vigilance and delivery inspection when: 
  • Customers buy mattress products at stores that display “KYMDAN” without authorization, causing customers to think that those stores are official KYMDAN agents and causing customers to relax vigilance.
  • As of 07/31/2011, KYMDAN has identified 387 stores displaying KYMDAN signs without Company authorization, signaling infringement of intellectual property rights related to the KYMDAN trademark. KYMDAN has sent official documents to these stores and 305 of them have had to remove such signs. Currently, 82 stores nationwide are infringing on KYMDAN intellectual property rights. KYMDAN is now working with competent authorities to demand that these stores remove signs. Customers are buying mattress products at shops and outlets displaying “Kymdan” which deceives customers into thinking that they are Kymdan’s officially authorized agents.
    
  • Some stores and websites advertise heavily discounted KYMDAN products, causing customers to relax vigilance due to desire for cheap purchases. As a result, customers are deceived by products of other brands.
• Some enterprises lack purchasing control and purchasing staff profit fraudulently from price differences through procuring cheap and low quality products that are said to be KYMDAN products. 
• For mattresses that are given as gifts, the following situations are common: 
  • Givers knowingly buy cheap mattresses of low quality to offer relatives or superiors but tell recipients that the products are made by KYMDAN.
  • Because givers who buy KYMDAN mattresses trust vendors, those vendors are told to deliver mattresses to recipients without inspection. This delivery style causes fraudulent substitution using low quality products and the truth is revealed only when mattresses show damage.

Many customers who wish to purchase KYMDAN mattresses become sales victims due to false assumptions about products. In many cases, customers contact KYMDAN after a short time of using rubber mattresses to request warranty protection for damaged or rotten products. At that time, it is discovered that a product is false and not produced by KYMDAN. Particularly in recent years, there have been many cases in which customers have mistakenly bought low quality latex mattresses of other brand names while thinking that they were getting KYMDAN mattresses:

• In 2006: 487 cases
• In 2007: 340 cases
• In 2008: 336 cases
• In 2009: 310 cases
• In 2010: 581 cases
• In 2011: 738 cases

All discovered cases are documented via confirmation with victimized customers. Almost all such false products have bad rubber odor, serious compression and exhaustion or damage after brief use. In such situations, customers lose money, cause trouble for themselves and seriously affect the reputation of the KYMDAN brand name.

KYMDAN certifies that it produces and markets only one product grade that has been tested for quality. There is absolutely no second grade product and we do not cooperate with any enterprise or facility to produce mattresses.

There is cautious and serious study of KYMDAN agents and the opening of an agency is based on strict criteria aimed at choosing the best agent in terms of ethics and ability. An agency in the KYMDAN distribution network is subject to strict and frequent inspection by KYMDAN. Even when an agency contract is in the process of termination, any agent found to be selling counterfeit products or found to be infiltrated by competitors is promptly removed from the list of authorized KYMDAN agencies posted on our website. Therefore, customers can rest assured when buying goods at agencies authorized by KYMDAN and have no worry about buying false mattresses.
